After 31 years investigating financial crime with the Toronto Police Service, Detective Derek Wilson retired in 2022 — and kept hearing the same story. Victims of cryptocurrency fraud had nowhere affordable to turn. The funds were traceable, the evidence was public on the blockchain, but the tools to follow it were priced for institutions and the results were written for analysts, not for the constable taking the report.
TracerLedger exists to close that gap: professional-grade cryptocurrency tracing, delivered in a form that victims can understand and that police, lawyers, and exchanges can act on.
Leadership

Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Derek is a retired Detective of the Toronto Police Service — Canada's largest municipal police service and the sixth largest in North America. Over a distinguished 31-year career, he spent more than half of his service investigating complex financial offences with the Financial Crimes Unit, leading high-value investigations into investment fraud, mortgage fraud, corporate fraud, and asset tracing.
That work built an extensive network across law enforcement, financial institutions, regulators, and private-sector investigators — and a clear view of the gap victims of cryptocurrency fraud fall into. Affordable, reliable tracing simply didn't exist for them. That insight became the foundation for TracerLedger.
As CEO, Derek leads TracerLedger's mission to make cryptocurrency tracing and recovery intelligence accessible to victims, legal professionals, and law enforcement alike.

Fraud is disorienting. Every step of the platform tells you where your case stands, what happens next, and what your options are — in plain language.
Our reports are structured the way investigators expect: transaction schedules, attribution findings, and preservation letters ready to send to exchanges.
Not every case is recoverable, and we will tell you so. When recovery is plausible, we show the path; when it isn't, we help you document the crime properly.
The sooner funds are traced, the better the chance of preservation. Begin with a free forensic report, or choose coordinated recovery support when speed and monitoring matter.
